3rd Annual American Indian Fair

Join us this Saturday, November 23rd, from 12-6pm in Brooks Hall (anthropology building – near the UVa corner) for our third fair! There will be FREE food from Take It Away, Mel’s Cafe, and spiced cider from Trader Joe’s (among other appetizers and beverages)!! We will also be raffling off a Frank Buffalo Hyde painting! Movie screenings of “Reel Injun” and “In Whose Honor?” will also take place. Here is the schedule for the day:

12-12:30: Welcome – Crafts, Refreshments, Painting Raffle Ticket Sale
12:30-1:30: Unmasking Stereotypes of Native Americans Workshop by Jessica McCauley
1:30-2:30: Storytelling by Grace Hays
2:30-3:30: Indian Child Welfare Act Lecture by Mrs. Mary Wilson
3:30-4:30: Edible and Medicinal Uses of Local Plant Life Workshop by Pat McCafferty
4:30-5:30: Music, Dancing and Regalia Demonstrations
5:30-6: Closing Messages & Raffle Drawing
